Linking doesn’t always work the way you have hoped it will. Sometimes, linking doesn’t work at all. It’s certainly not the norm, but it does happen from time to time. When linking fails, you need to take a good hard look at your strategy to figure out the why. Without an honest, objective assessment of your linking strategy, you will only continue to make the same mistakes again.
Another very common problem is seeing your project through to the end. If you had great ideas but simply didn’t follow them far enough to see results, your link building can fail. Doing half a job is the same as doing no job when it comes to results. If you don’t follow through, you can’t expect anything good will come from it.
By not using the best linking practices, you can sink right from the outset. There is no excuse to not start on the right foot at least. Knowing what NOT TO do is as important as knowing what TO do. Running with bad linking neighborhoods, engaging in buying or selling links, and linking to questionable sources will kill your site. This is a common problem many people run into when they use less than reputable SEO firms. Only using one method to build links will sink you too. You have to approach linking with an open mind, and use all resources available to you.
Building links too fast can ding you if Google thinks the links may not be coming from a valid source. In fact, too many links on a page or site as a whole is now a problem you have to watch for. A number of people that went overboard with this are now paying the price for it. Using mass submission to article sites just for links can do this to you – Google will simply stop counting if they realize you are after automated links. Poor rooting can make you links invalid. No one wants to read gibberish, so if you don’t know how to write, hire someone who can produce great valuable content for you.
If you lack creativity, you’ll be boring which is as bad as having bad writing. Worse in fact – I would rather click on a link that said ‘Se monky fal off Byke into poole” than “Watch a video about a monkey here” There is no shame in asking for help if you get in over your head, just make sure you ask for help from a reputable source. So called gurus will charge you for junk advice!
Pay attention, and get help to fix your linking problems before you miss out on great opportunities. A little support can go a long way! If you need the help of a good SEO firm to get you headed in the right direction, there is no shame in going that route.
