    Summer means shopping for many – Vacation time, lawn time, prepare for school to start back up, etc.

    There is no better time than the tail end of winter to start working on your SEO for the Summer rush. You want to be prepared for any traffic you can corral, which means that link building, landing pages and a solid social network campaign need to start now.

    If you start by looking at last year – pull up some archived blog posts, etc – and find out what was hip and hot. Add to that your experience with new celebs, stars and other events, and try to come up with a good hook for this year’s audience.

    Once you have decided on the thrust of your site, start spreading stuff around with heavy emphasis on SEO to start building links to your new landing pages. Article directories, blogs, book marking sites – you can even start your own niche blog and optimize it with interesting tidbits and drive traffic from there to you site.

    Keep a close watch out for changes on the scene and keep your site updated and cutting edge. Make sure your checkout is quick and easy to navigate, and that your entire site is secure so your visitors will feel confident about surfing and shopping.

    Above all, don’t lose sight of the goal – ongoing conversions. You can optimize for summer now, and refine as you go along, but by the time summer gets here you should be well into your plans for autumn and then the holidays.
