There are lot debates around two way links and some argue that if there are too many two way links that are going in and out our your website then search engines will be able to identify those as unnatural linking and such linking may not be able to boost your ranking or they may not have any major effects on your website’s ranking.

When it comes to three way linking you need three websites unlike the two way linking. The links are exchanged among three websites rather than two domains. This is also used by certain website owners who own more than one website but try to popularize and make one of their websites stronger using the other websites. You will be given a link from their secondary website while you link to their main website. This way there are no links going out of their main website but all the links are coming into the main website. However, if you need to justify the argument that two way linking may be considered artificial, then you should make sure that three way linking takes place between sites that are hosted in different servers so that you will not be penalized for link trading. While doing three way linking, you must make sure that you are connecting only to relevant sites. Links pointing to your website from links that are not necessarily connected will indicate that your intent is link popularity.

Three way links are also used to promote one’s website in a guarded way because at no stage a highly profitable website can be questioned for its integrity. When you are asked for a three way link exchange makes sure to review the nature of the website that will be connecting to your site and the nature of the website that you need to connect to. Never agree for a three way link exchange until you ensure that by doing so your website’s reputation is to put to stake. Do not blindly connect engage in three way linking just because you are getting a free link. If you do not review the sites carefully you might be ending up connecting to certain problematic website that can get you into problem. Moreover, when you have links to irrelevant websites in your resource section other serious webmasters may not be ready to exchange links with you. This can however, happen with two way linking as well.
